Persevere Purpose
Get rid of what slows you down,
Causing you to wear a frown;
Especially all the sin,
That is corrupting within.
Our sin likes to distract,
Winding up being attacked;
By the deceit and the lies,
That torments and agonize.
Run the race that lies ahead,
To the cross just up instead;
Diligently persevere,
While remaining sincere.
Focus on Jesus you must,
With all of your faith and trust;
He endured death on the cross,
Turning to joy from the loss.
Christ saw the joy beforehand,
Just as the Father had planned;
So He ignored the disgrace,
And then took His rightful place.
So endure your discipline,
That is tempting you with sin;
Letting faith direct your life,
That will be avoiding strife.
