Spiritual Might
Never would I start a riot,
Since I am gentle and quiet;
Even with all of my merit,
I am somewhat poor in spirit.
But I still try to stay aligned,
With the Lord being on my mind;
For the fear of God is within,
To detour away from the sin.
Upon you I make my request,
To inspire me with your zest;
And motivate me to refresh,
Against the powers of the flesh.
Our soul is living in this shell,
Which should just be buried in hell;
Since it corrupts both mind and heart,
Of everything we impart.
Put an end to the reasoning,
And prepare for the quickening;
When each thought will be under Christ,
And no longer will be enticed.
Be ready to see punishment,
Those deserving admonishment;
Who were trying to take control,
Of your mind body and your soul.
