HAVEN

Passe political tricks,
shark bites and venomous pricks,
greed's butchery to be rich,
rivalry's corrupted twists,

leadership's absence of wit,
fallen idols' feigned imprints,
networks lure, deceive and switch,
control reigns but honor drifts,

seaports, ports, airports at risk,
toxic addictions persist,
murder: careless game for kicks,
flocks feud, fall, forsake and split,

trusted love's traitorousness,
rear view stabbings bloody shifts,
encountering lies and myths,
dodging bullets, hurdling pits . . .

ultimate escape for this:
safe haven where God exists.

Matthew 11:28-30
Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you
who are weary and carry heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you.  Let me teach you,
because I am humble and gentle at heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy to bear, and the
burden I give you is light." NLT
