I don't know what was said
Angry words came my way
I just heard my friend Jimmy
say, "I'm going to run away"
I had nothing to do that day
We were only six what can I say?
First few blocks we knew
everyone and would wave
Stopped by the graveyard
picked up some zombies in our play
But then there was the road
A place Mom said we could not go
This was big time rebellion you know
Hours later we were officially lost
We had to find home at any cost
Moms told us not to talk to strangers
Everyone was a stranger part of the dangers
hours and hours we were getting scared
Shadows of daemons following would
Some friendly like Casper would we be spared
There was Ned Farmer working in his yard
Boys you need some water you have been working hard
At some point you are not running away trying to find home
He took us by the hands so we didn't have to go alone
Now Jimmy's mom she was really glad and sad
My mom had a belt and was really mad
I don't think I will ever run away again
Though after a spanking I thought of it now and then
One time I threatened to run away from home
Mom packed a lunch but that's another poem
She took all the fun out of running away
I'll show her I go in the backyard and play
