Obeying God
Oh how quickly we do forget,
What God did to pay our debt;
And not even lift our voice,
For praising Him as we rejoice.
We are not even thinking twice,
While waiting for His advice;
Rather we light our fires,
For unethical desires.
So many times we tested God,
To see if He would spare the rod;
Then cry from the earthquake or flood,
Not thinking the power of blood.
No matter what may be the task,
The Lord gives for what we will ask;
But never do we appreciate,
Everything He did create.
Maybe at least we could say please,
And pray about a new disease;
We did not even give a name,
Asking to help us douse its flame.
So easy for us to receive,
If we choose to truly believe;
By confessing to God as we pray,
And of His Word learn to obey.
