Live as People of God
I want to encourage you,
To live a life that is true;
Live in the name of the Lord,
And His Word not be ignored.
You are set on worthless things,
With short-lived joy that it brings;
Then afterwards comes the strife,
That would be from the lowlife.
If you live within the light,
Then you must do what is right;
Not like as when you embark,
On earthly things in the dark.
How could you ever proclaim,
The Word of God without shame;
While having impure thoughts,
Where immorality trots.
Do not be like a child,
As perversion runs wild;
Letting greed and desires,
To light the lustful fires.
Speak only of what is good,
Do only of what you should;
As being what would please God,
Never in being a fraud.
