The Desire to Follow Christ
You know what the commandments are,
For avoiding a sinful scar;
Never murder and never steal,
Nor an adulterous ordeal.
Sin against one sin against all,
Either way it is your downfall;
For all have sinned and fallen short,
Missing the pure ship at the port.
But Christ is still able to save,
From the darkened underground grave;
Eternal life He can still bless,
If will you believe and confess.
As long as it is from the heart,
Not just the lips for you to start;
Just give up immoral pleasure,
To get your heavenly treasure.
What seems impossible to do,
But can be done by God for you;
What seems unable to be done,
Can be possible through the Son.
Anyone who gives up their home,
To follow Christ while they roam;
Will enter the Kingdom of God,
And will be healed where they are flawed.
