Encouragement for Battle
Going to war against your foes,
Do not start thinking of your woes;
Fret not a force larger than yours,
Or the sound of how their tank roars.
Do not be afraid or show fear,
Because the Lord your God is near;
No need to start hinting at doubt,
When He has brought you this far out.
But before the battle begins,
Be sure to confess all your sins;
And getting the chaplain to speak,
To all of the troops that may seek.
Soldiers leaving something behind,
And not setting right in his mind;
Maybe something was left undone,
Never finished that had begun.
Do not lose courage or your might,
For God keeps you within His sight;
Keep your cool for He is with you,
Since you know that His Word is true.
Victory will be yours today,
By remembering as you pray;
Let His Spirit be in control,
Straightening our inner soul.
