The Grace of God
In the past we were fools,
With breaking all the rules;
And being so uncouth,
In avoiding the truth.
Hardened heart and hard head,
So easily misled;
And corrupted within,
As slaves to lust and sin.
We were filled with envy,
A world topsy-turvy;
And with being so mean,
We were despised when seen.
But Christ came from above,
Made His kindness and love;
Not through the righteousness,
But through His blessedness.
Of His mercy to measure,
That gives us a treasure;
Having life eternal,
Saved from the infernal.
He gave us salvation,
Saving from frustration;
Giving hope on this earth,
Of a chance for new birth.
