Comforting Christians
We do not want to be naïve,
About things that we do believe;
Pertaining to those that have died,
And where they have gone to abide.
We might say that they are asleep,
Remaining safe for God to keep;
Until that time when Christ returns,
As one goes with another burns.
So there is no need for sorrow,
Since they will wake up tomorrow;
Within the arms of Jesus Christ,
Since the forgiveness has sufficed.
But with others who have no hope,
Without the faith for them to cope;
They have probably reached the end,
Never finding Christ as their friend.
We tell you what the Lord has taught,
Life after death that we have sought;
For those of us who are alive,
Know exactly how to survive.
So when we hear the trumpet sound,
We will know we are homeward bound;
As we are standing in the crowd,
Seeing Jesus Christ on that cloud.
