At Your Side Once More
i see you with my minds eye i smile reaching for you to gently caress your face you gently take my hands turn them over and kiss my palms ever so softly i shiver with pleasure up and down my spine ive never felt this way before you make me so happy at the thought of being at your side once more i hurt you so much once upon a time was it so bad that you stopped loving me when i was out of control not understanding what i was doing feeling no one cared did you stop loving me once upon a time when i was so lost looking in wrong places you make me so happy at the thought of being at your side once more is there a chance to accept me again we have both changed our demons under control understood accepted for what they did to us what they could still do to us if we fall we are older wiser life has taught us well has it taken our hearts and made them stone you make me so happy at the thought of being at your side once more the heart tells me so i feel and think you also feel this way this time we go slow take our time to be close loving to each other with slow long walks of solitude together talk about everything our past must be allowed to heal our present needs to be addressed you make me so happy at the thought of being at your side once more it is our future i care about the most we cant alter the past we cant change the hurt we felt but we can come to terms with them learn all over who we are and what our needs are now lust and passion must be built upon we need to learn real love all over again from the mind you make me so happy at the thought of being at your side once more i have let go of my hurt i felt before now you must let go of yours for us to start over i feel a future for us but a slower one of you and me then our sons then our grandchildren you and i need to heal to forget what pains we caused each other make our children proud you make me so happy at the thought of being at your side once more Vote for this poem
