AN INNOCENT CHILD
has anything ever been seen
as beautiful and clean
as the innocent love of a child?
the one thing can tear you apart
stabbing icicles into your heart
is the suffering of
an innocent child
can that feeling which makes your heart sing
single handily putting your soul to wing
come from anyone but
an innocent child
blessings of parenthood beyond measure
the greatest memory anyone can treasure
is holding in your hands the life of
an innocent child
our history of man's cruelty to man
has every since time first began
evolved on how
the world treats
an innocent child
two thousand years ago
mankind's father saw the birth of his son
an innocent child
when this child became a man
as part of some demented religious plan
the world murdered his son
an innocent child
had that almighty father been me
I would have swept the entire world into the sea
I would have left nothing except
an innocent child
as the season of joy draws near
open your heart so everyone can hear
and love with the love of
an innocent child
when joy and happiness has passed
there's a way to make that special love last
look at the world through the eyes of
an innocent child
if there's a future for mankind on this earth
if ever a man is to prove he has worth
there must be a haven for
an innocent child...
