WHO ARE THE REAL HEROES OF OUR GREAT NATION?

My fellow Americans, I have had the honor & privilege of having served
our nation in war and peacetime and I have walked with and among the
real heroes. I am not talking about those over paid and over glorified
rock stars, athletes or actors singing songs, playing games or those
playing a movie role that they think makes them Gods to be worshiped
or blindly followed by their fans and groupies. I'm talking about the
real heroes who are the ones who have provided your freedom that you
enjoy each day when you wake up,  yet at the same time you never give
these real heroes a second thought in your lives.

They haven't taken steroids to become a super athletes breaking all
the records in their sport, they haven't stood on the stage bellowing
out their songs like the rock music stars do and they haven't played
the lead role in a new movie like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt pretending
to be someone they could never be in real life and they make millions
a year to pretend to be the real heroes in life. They are all just a
bunch of overpaid people that in real life would never give you or me
the time of day let alone go and risk their lives for you or your own
family and friends.

If you really want to meet some real life honest to God heroes, just
go down to your local VA hospital and visit the men and women there
who have been injured in battles fought to keep America free & safe.
You can find there real people like you and me, a father, a mother,
a brother, a sister, an aunt, an uncle, they are nieces & nephews,
a cousin or someone who you went to school with. They are all there
and they are the real representations of our country and our people.
They have served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam and many of the conflicts
and wars our nation has fought in. These are real Americans and real
heroes who thought of you and your families first before they ever
worried what was in it for them personally.

These great Americans can be found in almost every city and state in
our great nation, they have never been paid millions of dollars for
signing their contract to serve our nation and they have never had a
multi-million dollar homes to live in like the overrated and spoiled
rich singers, athletes or actors who would never risk their own lives
and futures for you or your families. But these real American heroes
all have served our nation to protect you and your families and your
way of life for a very small wage and they have risked everything up
to and including their very own lives and limbs for you to keep you
and your family's freedom and the comfortable lifestyle that you are
accustomed to in this nation of ours and yet even though you can name
almost every single singer, sport's hero and most if not all of the
NASCAR drivers and their sponsors, can any one of you name even one
real American hero who has given his or her life in defense of your
freedom? I didn't think you could, it's our brave young warriors who
are the real HEROES of our great nation and they are also the reason
that you are free and you are safe and that you and your family have
that precious freedom that allows you to become whatever you want to
be in this great nation of ours. Take the time to remember those who
have given their all to make sure that you and your family can live
in freedom and safety everyday of your own lives here in America.
