....Heartbreak
What is it about heartbreak
that leaves us in a state of mourning
Whether we be asleep or awake
the sadnesss remains, always waiting
What the mind knows to be right
the heart simply does not accept
Leaving behind heartache and strife
memories fill a void to be stored and kept
Two halves once made a whole
now two wholes no longer a half
Separate lives now living sole
oh how I remember the sound of your laugh
It's taken a while to reach this end
but perhaps it was always destined to be
Never really were you truly mine
only in the begining were we a proper we
You only want what is not your's
to obtain what you do not have
Only once you feel safe and secure
your's becomes a complacent love
I deserve better, even if I do feel numb
better to be alone, without cause
Than be someone's option
to settle for a shadow of what once was
So goodbye my once other halfer
may you find true happiness and love
Always will I remember our time together
like the rollercoaster ride it once was.
