I used to live for good while far out
In the Outback of Australia long ago..
And some there waited long for the rain
As it was it more than often did not show..
A young lad came to me and he said to me
Do you know I'm seven today my birthday true..
And to this day I've never really seen it rain
As the sky above is always very deeply blue..
I told him for his birthday I'd wish for rain
And the very strangest thing ever so to be..
Two days after the sky it turned darkest grey
And rain so heavy it fell continually and free..
He was so excited and mind you so was I as well
As someone somewhere heard my request it seems..
And then it settled down to a useful drizzle
Becoming such wonderful to the dam small streams..
But now I'm living in a paradise all of its own
And it rains every time rains needed true..
Everything is green and such flowers all bloom
The rivers we live between are always running too..
But I often wish do really in sincerity now and then
That all those that would give anything for good rain..
Could only know more often the joy of rivers in flow
As we all do here in the Philippines again and again..
