Born on April 7, 1948, in the town of Shoumen, North-East Bulgaria, an only child.
Background: My mother is a retired accountant. My father, God bless his soul, was an engineer, registered an invention patent in Bulgaria, and was a volunteer in World War II.
Family: I am married, and have two children and grandchildren
Work experience: Teaching English since 1972, retired now.
Past Hobbies: Writing and travelling (when possible), travelling (when possible) and writing (at all times); also swimming for a change.
Present Hobbies: Counting the pages I have written.
Past Dislikes: Profanity in any but the recognized varieties.
Present Dislikes: The fear that I must be brave in the face of life.
Past and Present Likes: Verdi and the opera; all (but some) symphonies; South American rhythms; philosophy which bases on biophysics; the works of many a writer and poet; and Shakespeare's study of the human nature.
Past Aptitudes in My Writing: To write what I would have liked to hear from others; and to describe in the most brilliant of colours things which I have a more or less lasting allergy to, so that I can recall the inconveniences when rereading the described as splendour, and remember the lack of company when time-assessing a text about nature. Art, however, needs some effort, and a bit of concentration on things other than our wishes.
Present Aptitudes in Writing: Looking for the easiest plot grid that will support my characters' integration in their environments, relationships, behaviours, and actions, or the other way round, so writing turns for me into a profession, and erases the memory of my teaching experience.
Self-portrait: I am a woman of nearly 60, an ethnic Bulgarian living in Bulgaria. I am an adventurer by nature and well-bred by origin, which controversy has necessitated my showing freedom in the world of intellect and my surviving in the material world.
