Take Me Away
Take me away...
Away from the ubiquitous lovers and their charades
Away from the peeling eyes of the world and their faces,
Frozen in some mockery, fallacy of nothingness
Away from the falsities of what passes for love
Away from melancholy, the malady striking hearts today
Away from derisive glances and reproachful stares
Melting away every ounce of me I have left,
Corroding my essence
And expounding upon already lived out terrors.
I want to love without consequence
Where every action becomes a reaction
And it doesn't wind up festering and imploding in
On itself and ending and dying and scarring
And peeling and bleeding and oozing...
And re-scarring...
Take me away.
