Did you know you were my hero?
I admired your “law and order” style of life.
Your fantastic role as father
And the way you openly adored your wife.
Your dedication as a deputy
To try to make the world a safer place.
You laid your life upon the line
And, against all odds, your courage ran the race.
Your deep faith in God, our Father…
Your sincere belief and service to His Son
Made your life a daily miracle
To those who watched each battle that you won.
Yes, the doctors sent you home to die
On the very first prognosis of your plight…
But God had further plans for you…
He put a seven year reprieve upon your flight.
Those seven years remission
Made up miracles of many different sorts.
They gave you time to share your story
And the time to let the Spirit prepare hearts.
Prayer was our only weapon
As we watched the deadly tumors take their toll.
They raised havoc on your body
But they couldn’t touch your spirit or your soul.
Yes, today the host of Angels came
As escorts to a permanent repair.
Your earthly life is over now
But your life is just beginning over there.

~~Dedicated to Shannon’s wife and children…
Sorcha, Cassia, Kaylynn, Garrett
and to his parents, Pastor and Mrs. Ernest Key~~
~~Author’s Note~~
Shannon Key went to be with the Lord. He was my grandson by marriage…married to Ish’s granddaughter.
If anyone ever fought the good fight of faith, this was
Shannon. His family feels the sadness of loss…yet the
Grace of God keeps our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
So long, Shannon… RIP….we’ll be seeing you.

John 11:25-26.
” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.b]">]
Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone
who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent
from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
