It creeps into the dreams we surrender to
Without choice, involuntarily ceding
Whatever moral code we ever had to
Guide us through until we see dawns
Bright awakening burn our senses black
It has stars which shine upon our submissive
Brain confused with random thoughts of dusk
Darkened until it no longer sees the moon
Or dreams of joy and elation beyond us in it's
Own world where we search for it with feet lost
In the mud of our emotions which fail us as we
Tread into our future not knowing where it ends
