CRAVING SLIVER

Oppressed inside a vacuum
Pieces of me fall quivering
Splintering into fragments

Numb comes after the pain
But we must endure torment
To encounter mercy's palm

So be it lay me submissive
Into my throes subservience
Dangling this craving sliver

Of an remnant of my human
Mortal wanting mere symbol
Resembling opaque existence

Will me another nightmare
I express from this spasm
Before my gratitude expires
