WHERE DO I GO, DANNY?

Where do I go Danny?
What do I do?
How do I walk the
Streets of P-Town
Without you?

Where do I go Danny?
What happened to my faith
That I'd look into the stars
To feel your face
Smiling down on me
Raining love on me
Bringing strength to me
Like a high no one could see.

Where do I go Danny?
What do I do?
Years are passing fast
Any day my life could be through
The boy next door is gone
So many decades gone
Yet he not fades
From my soft soul.

Where do I go Danny?
What is there in living?
If year after year
The knowledge is giving
More things to study
More things to love
More thing that are blessings
Falling down from sky above.

Where do I go Danny?
What is there for me?
When you are so happy
And I write misery
I've tried and I've filled
My life with God's will
As my life goes on
You want to be a song
That plays in me
While I've been into the habit
Of the Ten Commandments
Always want a man
Who wears a wedding band for me
I need to be chattel
I need to be owned
Right now
I just need a home.

Where do I go Danny?
What do I do for you?
I'm still married to Walter
These 25 years have so flew
Away like the crows
Down at Hawthorne School
When we lived by each other
You educated this fool
So I try to repay you in poetry
And you probably can't stand I write freely
From my mind
And my heart
And my soul
It's my role
I grew into
When I met you
For years I flew
Down Highway 11
To the heaven
Of all you were
The Land
To me
So blame your spirit
For setting something off in me
That demands I write this poetry.
