Uncovered
This is me without lipstick
Nothing to stick to my words
Nothing to cover them
nothing to make the colorful
so now I know my words won't
be mistaken or go unheard
This is me without eyeshadow sunglass or contacts
Nothing to hinder my sight
Now I can see the world for what it is worth
and you could see me for what I am about
This is me with out nail polish
No reason not to use my hands
to carve images of truth in minds
to dig foundations of something for my gender and race to stand
This is me
without make-up
uncovered
bare
all exposed
uncensored
here is the knowledge I bestow
