To my poetry friends
I have decided it is in my best interest as a writer to leave poetrypoem.Its been a long haul for many of us.I started coming here in 2004 reading due to reccomendation by a friend. It took me months though highly encouraged to do so to gather up my courage to open a site here.I had always kept my poetry safe guarded for only me personally and had never shared it with anybody before. So many of you greeted me with open arms and shared with me this great site and it became my poetry home. I've made friends here, had a wonderful boyfriend I met here, these people I will keep close to me as long as it be God's plan for me. I enjoyed this my sanctuary where my belief was I would be able to share a bit of my life with others and possibly help someone else through some of my experiences.
My first years here were so beautiful with you that the latter years I find hurt my heart in a tremendous way due to things I can't say I understand the why's to. I can no longer find reason nor a will to be here.I haven't really had the chance as I am a poet who takes my time in writing not forcing poems to share things I wished to. The more serious and I believe more relevent parts of my life I have only began to address in writing though I do not feel safe in sharing those writes in these sites anymore. Therefore I believe my time on poetrypoem now defeats its purpose I was led here for to begin with.
The last two years here have been a struggle for me that henders me in every write I try to lay on paper knowing I will put it to this site due to some unwarranted ugly behaviors by a few on here of me in 2007/08. It only takes a few to ruin it for everyone.
I believe what has happened to me in Poetrypoem,though hurtful, was part of God's plan for me, but now God is ushering me go....
I will continue on my journey writing. That is still part of the plan. My goal was to publish in 2010 though others had asked me time and again for the past several years to do so. I kept saying to all the same, no it isn't time yet to which I would then be asked how will you know when it is time? My answer then would always remain the same to all... When I write the one that says to me publish then I will know. Next question would always be...what write? To which my answer would be well I don't know and if I did that would mean I have already written it. At one point I thought I had but God said hey don't cave to pressure because that one is not it.
It's not my decision when I shall publish God is going to let me know. I will not self publish, I refuse. I will go through the long drawn out process of regular publishing. Someday you will find me on a book shelf, not as mysticfire, you will find the author at the bottom signed...Heather Cook and in my publications you will find more and more of what I was not allowed due to circumstances in poetrypoem to post. Now you finally all know my name you nosy, nosy, poets(haha).
Several of you have my email and if you ever wish to say hello I would love to hear from you I just ask that you safeguard it as I always have yours...
