The snow battered our faces
as we trod this barren white land
freezing was not an option now
for we felt nothing of our limbs...
Five miles in a day was the goal, if!
in our tent the four of us lay
quiet in solitude
reflecting on life's hurdles
It can't be long now before next camp! said one...
as he started to write with frost bitten fingers
He managed to finish, looked at the others sleeping
knew this was the end...there would be no last camp
His last thought before he drifted into the ...
never ending sleep was -
"I hope the world remembers us"
