We face changes every single day
And some things are easier to see
Because we can see them coming our way
But it's the other things that come unexpectedly
That are the hardest things to prepare for emotionally
And when they happen to us so suddenly
And we lose someone
before it was there time to go away
It is never simple or easy
Because these are changes that affect us dramatically
Especially when we never saw these changes coming our way
And that's why we were never prepared to say goodbye
Because we thought that they would live to see another day
