WINTER_SUMMER

WINTER_SUMMER

WINTER_SUMMER

--------------------------------         *

The white faces of winter become globes of yesterday
Sun streaked fingers erase frigid words from frozen walls
Sprinkled wisps of greenery start etching their way
As coppered bits of summer remove specks of blue-grey
-----------------------------

It's been too long since summer planted her valley
Babbling brooks and tables of blooming honey-suckle vines
Gardenias spill forth their essence as far as a cat can see
Oh yes you frozen blade of winter, it's time to flee

   `` --------```-----------

Your cold winds lamented against a blackened sky
Yet I loved you so, in your layered white trousseau
But it's time to unleash the sunrays, their tendrils untie
As the feral howls of winter now whisper good-bye

  ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~       ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Take your icy fingers and close your glacial doors
I'll rest my thoughts inside the tender keys of summer
We'll nail winters' howls beneath our summer floors
Kiss the ebbing tides where sun-bows line the shores
