Snow Dogs
On the first day of motherhood
Three newborns did arrive,
Unbeknownst to anyone
But they were really alive.
Righty,
With his right white paw,
Turbo,
Just like his father Cooper,
And Lefty,
With his left white paw.
Later that afternoon
As the kids came home from school
They realized what had happened.
Deeply amazed so they watched vigil
In case there were more on the way.
Oh, yes, three more pups did arrive.
The birthing room was inundated with puppy scent
As mother was tending to
All her babies at that moment.
Lightning a;ppeared on the scene,
With a white stripe down his back,
From his nose to the tip of his tail
Just like a boly of lightning.
Patches was so adorable and unique,
All white with a speck of black,
Just like her mother Sadie.
And to their amazement
This was the last of the littert.
But it was Shorty,
The runt of the litter,
Who was then hungriest of all,
Raised a ruckus
And all the Eskimos were upset!
As soon as he found an available spot
Everyone had calmed down.
And they all fell asleep
While nuzzling to suckle
Alongside their mother
Three newborns did arrive,
Unbeknownst to anyone
But they were really alive.
Righty,
With his right white paw,
Turbo,
Just like his father Cooper,
And Lefty,
With his left white paw.
