Kindred Spirits.

One hundred and one
Years before my birth
When the Irish potato famine
Brought starvation and death

The Choctaw American Indians
Despite their 'Trail of Tears'
Donated one hundred and seventy
Dollars to Ireland in those years

In honor of that native American Tribe
Eagle feathers stand in acknowledgment
In the town of Midleton County Cork
Alex Pentek sculpted a beautiful monument.

[May 3rd 2016]

Alex Pentek is a sculptor living in County Cork Ireland. Today July 19th he has just won the commission for the Gold Coast Surfer's Paradise Beach in Queensland Australia commemorating the former rain forest of that region - Congrats Alex!

[There are 5 million Native Americans and 574 Tribes in the United States. The actor Roy Rogers 11/5/1911-7/6/1998 was Choctaw Indian from his mother's family]

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing" - Albert Einstein.
