I think I'll devote this page to informing people of my medical condition. It really sucks being ill, especially when doctors and specialists in their fields cant find the root cause of a major problem.
I have been termed, "an interesting case". This does not flatter me. I have what's known as protein losing enteropathy of unknown itiology. I've been tested up and down inside and out with all of the abbreviational equipement. Most of my organs have been scrutinized, and nothing has surfaced asto the origin of my problem. All they know for eure is that I am loosing alpha 1 Antitripsin through my gut which is the precurser to protein.
The treatment I am recieving is a best guess try by the doctors to actrally treat me. They are betting that I have some inflammation somewhere in my body that is causing malabsorption so they have me on a high dose of corticosteroids...prednisone 60mg/day.
This steroid is causing me to lose my vision. I've had to stop working because I cant see well enough to read normal print, or even drive my car saftly. I have to read the computer screen by holding a magnifying lass up to it while wearing strong reading glasses. If I didn't know how to type, I would not be able to tell what I'm saying here, or if I make a mistake.
