It is not as though I write, To give you a new command; Rather try to shed some light, On one that God does demand. An older Law from the start, It is one that you have heard; Should be engraved in your heart, And written throughout His Word. But I write also a new, Commandment of which I give; That exists in Christ for you, The true light shining to live. How can you live in the light? When some believers you hate; So darkness then fills your sight, No longer do you see straight. Live in the light if you love, Any other believers; Share as it flows from above, With all other receivers. Nothing destroys faith of those, Who are living in the light; Because of the love that flows, Are given the pure insight. I write because of your sin, Are forgiven through Christ; Since Christ you know did begin, Before He was sacrificed. I write because you have won, And you know our Father; Defeating the evil one, Through Jesus Christ your Brother.
