Hate

I hate that bloke

Standing over there

With his designer jeans

And his floor polished hair.

He's moved into my house,

Into my bed space,

Even parks his car in

My old parking place.

He's taken my family,

He's taken my wife,

Taken every thing I valued

From my former life.

I really didn't know

Anything was wrong

I thought our marriage

Was lasting and strong,

Then I found my suitcases

Standing by the back door

And the keys that I'd used

Didn't fit any more.

Just a complete silence

Not a word of reply

To my anguished shouts

Asking her why.

So I picked up my bags

And went off on my way

Then I was told

He moved in the next day.

She wouldn't listen

To my pleas and tears

Apparently they'd been

An item for years.

His wife had found out

So it would seem

They decide to destroy

And shatter my dream.

I'm a civilised person

So i know never will

But I really do understand

A man's desire to kill.

He avoids my eyes

As we sit in the same bar.

Any acknowledgement

Would be many steps too far.

So now you know why

I hate that bloke over there

With his designer jeans

And his floor polished hair.
