Greetings Everyone!
I am a 47 year old woman from Texas who has been through some trials in this life. The poetry I will be posting here comes from my heart and speaks of how I made it through most of my life. I am a survivor, I survived a coma, which lead to my having a tracheostomy tube in my neck. But God is good, I am still here. I believe that each of us has a unique blessing and story to tell in our own way, and I pray that you can hear my story and my blesing through my poetry and the spirit that flows through out my words and feelings. So I hope you enjoy your visit to my poetry site. Its slow getting started, but it will be worth the wait. I hope you are able to feel the expressions of my creativity as I do when I am composing each piece.
I Corinthians 13:1-7 read in the Message Bible says:
"If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end."
I used this scripture to say two things; that we all have different ways of expressing feelings, words, emotions and ourselves and no one way is perfect, but the point is to express that and I am trying to. The other thing is that without love there is really no feeling, so that is what I try to share with you through my poetry.
