Misty M. Coonfield
I was born to the parents of Mack and Sheila Potter at Howard Community Hospital on February 6,1976. I live in the U.S. in Indiana. I have two younger sisters Danika and Kabrina Potter. Was married to John Coonfield on April 13,1996. I wrote my first Poem (Your Name) my Senior Year in High School. It was published the following year, and my writing just took off from there. I started out writing just Poetry, now I write a little of everything.
My sister Kabrina got married in July of 2003 to Josh Bell. My other sister Danika got married in October of 2005 to Sean Elliott. I am a Proud Aunt of 7 cute and adorable Nephews.
Education: I went to Galveston Elementary K-6 grade and Lewis Cass Jr./Sr. High School for 7-12 grade. I took a Writing Course through Long
Ridge Writers in 2002, for Breaking Into Print. I then took another Writing Course through Writer's Digest School in 2003.
Awards and Honors: I won the Roller Skate-a-Thon for Riley Children's Hospital in 1993. Was in Girl Scouts for 5 years in grade school. I was a Student Council Representative my Senior year in 1994. I was a Member in Good Standing with the International Society of Poets in both 1995 and 1996. Also I received two Editor's Choice Award for the years 1995 and 1997. On January 6, 1997 I was inducted into the International Poetry Hall of Fame. Kokomo Tribune did an Article on me in 2001 and 2003. I also have had several Poems put on Sound of Poetry by The National library of Poetry. I also received a letter and autographed picture of Montel Williams, for my Artistry in Poetry for helping to find a Cure for Multiple Sclerosis. I went to Reno in 2001 where I received a Poet of the Year Medallion and a Muse of Fire Trophy. I was named Poet of the Year in 2001 & 2002. On March 25, 2002 I was awarded the National Authors Registry which entitles me to append the initials R.A. (Registered Author) after my name. On August 2002 I was awarded a Certificate of Participation Award along with Payment for Rainy Day Corner Online Publishing Company. In the Spring of 2002 and also in the Summer of 2002 I was awarded an Honorable Mention Award from Iliad Press. The National Authors Registry presents the Presidents Award for Literary Excellence in 2003 to me for my Creative Talent. I was published in a magazine by Spire Press from New York in Spring of 2003. Was published in Memories Magazine, the special 15Th Anniversary Edition by JMW Publishing Company in Missouri. I then received a certificate for Advanced Poetic Accomplishment and Creativity from National Library of Poetry. I received an award for Outstanding Accomplishments in The Art of Poetry Writing in the "Visions" Anthology Series from JMW Publishing Company. I won an award for Editor's Choice Award in 2004. Also received a Certificate of Achievement in Poetry for being one of the 100 Most Famous Poets. I then won a Creative Of Communications for Adult Poetry Contest for fall of 2004, for one of the highest merits and was chosen for publication. I received another Editor's Choice Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry in March of 2005 from The International Library of Poetry. In February of 2008 I was published in White Oak Press. I won an Editor's Choice Award from Poetry.com in March of 2008. I also was certified as a Semifinalist in March of 2008 and was published in Immortal Verses. I worked as a Volunteer for Shadow Poetry helping amateur poets, been doing this since June of 2002. Now I work as a Volunteer for Beta Readers helping out amateur writers, been doing this since March of 2008. I have received a couple of Song Writing Contracts as well as having several of my writings published in Books, Anthologies, Magazines, Newspapers and Online.
