Our indian bothers and Sisters and just plain a town in repair. Marysville-Pilchuck is a Highschool on the Indian reservation. They suffered twin tragedies lately. A mudslide that hit their community killing forty plus of their citizens. Shortly afterwards there was a shooting. Four of their students dying of recent insanity. But in strength the commuity carrys on. The next baseball game for Downtown well be against Marysville-Pilchuck.My head well be bowed. These are brave people allowing the passion for sports to carry on.
Grandson well have a very hard time matching his last performance. Three hits, a walk, three runs batted in and three runs scored. The double was changed to a single because a throwing error allowd advancement to second. Also I am not the best of reporters. His triple off the wall knocked in one run not two. Downtown knocked in the winning run. But he was the second insurance run coming in from third. Acculated to the student body. They came running from a school function to cheer him on.
Why I mention Marysvile-Pilchuck. Both school have outstanding school spirit. Football the cheering sections of both school mixed. I remember so well. The boys from both school for their game dressed in Military uniforms honoring out veterans. I had students from both school giving me ribbons and thanking me for my service. This so soon after suffering the tragities. It well be an emotional game. We consider them a Sister school./dandy
