I know we hear enough of the bad stories. Dad a Sergent Major in the Army Airforce Mom a Wac. Both Christian and met in Church. Their second son came late in life. Their son and my son became friend late in high school. If someone asked my son would say this is my brother. He became our adopted son. Especially when both his parents died. He became so family my son named his first boy after his adopted brother. Big Brent and little Brent. Having no children of his own he has adopted my Grandchildren as his own. They love him to death. As time has gone on we are treated as Mom and Dad. Now I have never approved of tattoes on my children. He came home one day with a tattoo on each arm. It was beautiful. Mom in uniform on one arm and Dad on the other. The art work is amazing.
This take me to last nights Hockey auction. Brents baseball auction he did not bat an eye donated nearly $4000. When asked he answered. It is for my kids. I don't know what he donated last night. He has been evasive. But I do know he bid $1000 on a barbicue. When someone asked what he was going to do with it and why he would bid so much. He said I have family in the neighborhood and who cares it is for the kids.
As always I was very proud of my family. We knew the money is raised for children who cannot affort to play. Hockey is not an inexpensive sport. Our table was not afraid to raise our bidding numbers. Ryan and his team worked the crowds. A hockey stick was getting a low bid. Ryan walked up picked it up and took it around the crowd. The family donated a trip to Hawaii for auction. Including luggage miles for airfaire. It raised $3700 and was the highest of the bids. I am hardly rich but rich in family values.
Brent's team lost last night 8-6. He may still be leading the high school hitters with five hits in seven at bats. I had some test yesterday not all good news. Doc said at some time I have had a mild heart trouble. I have written poetry about, "Life After Death". My head is clear but I sometimes search for words. I just say it is part of aging. /dandy
