Yesterday I had an appointment with another dermatologist who was highly recommended by my internist. His diagnosis is melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer, in addition to pre-cancer. He did four biopsies, three on my back and one on my leg and I will receive the results next Monday. In the meantime, I am making arrangements with AARP to have a nurse come to my home every day to change the band-aids that are covering my back and my leg. The next step will be to have the lesions removed at a cancer center. This is a one-day procedure. The danger of melanoma is that it can spread to other organs of the body. I also have what the dermatologist diagnosed as pre-cancer on my face, arms and legs. This is not noticeable and the dermatologist will freeze it. I am not permitted to use any chemicals on my skin or hair, which means no more perms or bleach, but I have found natural ingredients, including extra-virgin coconut oil, which are wonderful. Please continue to pray to God for me. I am not posting this information on Facebook, but you, my poetry friends, have my complete trust. I will try to write some new poetry as soon as things settle down a bit. May God bless you. Love, Annette
