Sorry, The plans for publication of my book about the Scared Straight prison program did not materialize. However,I am relieved because I don't think I could have handled all the work involved at my age (87)and police lieutenant Alan August, the person I wrote the book about, has been suffering from Multiple Sclerosis and is now badly handicapped. The person who wanted to publish our book called Lt. August on the phone. They had a long telephone conversation and he never called again. Actually,I've had a rough time trying to recover from skin cancer and I'm happy to say that because I have very good doctors and am doing all that I can to help myself (diet, no chemicals, etc.) I am well on the way to recovery. I'm planning to start a creative writing class in my home -- free of charge to friends and neighbors, and am looking forward to that and, certainly, to writing more poetry. I have wonderful friends here at Poetry Poem and I miss all of you so much. May God bless you all for your good wishes. Love, Annette
