Biography
Kitra B Booker was born in Wisconsin in 1950. She attended grade school and three years of high school in the remote village of Hawkins, Wisconsin. The schools consolidated due to declining enrollment so she finished her senior year graduating from Ladysmith High School in 1968.
Born with passion for the written word, Kitra read and collected books. Since childhood she has dabbled in art, poetry and writing. Being raised an only child on a dairy farm gave her opportunity to wander natures woods and farmlands, giving her ample time for imagination as she wrote, collected philosophical quotations and dream of a career in journalism or art.
Times being what they were in the 60's, writers and artists were classified as "starving," so being autodidact throughout her life, she pursued a 20 year career in Accounting/Data Processing and Management in the business world. In this corporate environment she excelled perceiving a bright future laid out before her. In 1988 she was suddenly stricken with a mysterious chronic debilitating illness, therefore unable to fulfill her dream in the corporate world.
Changing the entire spectrum of her life to this illness, Kitra fell into abyss for years. To compensate for skills previously lost, she still continues to re-teach herself different approaches. Unable to write with pen, she found a computer keyboard much less fatiguing and was able on a limited basis to delve into her love of writing again. Kitra began to write erotica in addition to her poetry, as well as her challenging life modifications.
