ABOUT SELECTPOETRY FUNCTION: Selectpoetry's main function is to provide a service to poetrypoem and it's abundance of talented writers by giving recognition to poetry. GOALS: Primary: To give recognition to poets and their creations, and to provide a way to share with others. Secondary: To provide a creative alternative, or to enhance the daily contest (because sometimes misuse of daily contest occurs) WHY SELECTPOETRY EXISTS Primary Purpose: To give more substance and meaning through daily highlights, while providing well-deserved recognition to writers. This site is comprised of diverse perspectives, and selection is based on feedback/critique methods. Please understand, all poetry is subjective, yet the site is doing its best to bring you something you may find more meaningful and helpful to you as a poetry reader. Secondary Purpose: Poets and their poems deserve something more meaningful, because misuse occurs in the daily contest. Such misuse is inconsistent with the original intention of how to nominate and cast votes while keeping within the site guidelines. It is fair to say there are rare occassions the contest works well. MISCELLANEOUS: The only difficulty selectpoetry's encountered is that there are so many good poems from which to choose for "Choice of the Day".
