NEWS: Did you know? -THERE'S A NEW POETRY SERIES THAT SITHEMBISO MAXWELL KOS, THE NATURAL POET, HAS COMPOSED. THIS POETRY SERIES IS ENTITLED "THE CANDIS SERIES" AND IT IS DEDICATED TO HIS EX-LOVER, CANDIS GLOVER. KOS HAS NEVER WRITTEN A POEM TO CANDIS EVER SINCE SHE LEFT HIM IN 2006, 2 YEARS AGO. HE WAS NEVER IN A POSITION TO WRITE ANY POEM TO CANDIS, DUE TO THE PAIN THAT GREW IN HIS HEART EVERYTIME HE TRIED TO WRITE A POEM OF FAREWELL TO CANDIS. IT TOOK HIM TWO FULL YEARS TO BE IN A POSITION TO WRITE POETRY DEDICATED TO HIS EX-LOVER. SHE WAS THE DEAREST THING TO HIS HEART AND HE SAYS THAT HE HAS NEVER LOVED AND WILL NEVER LOVE ANYONE THE WAY HE LOVED CANDIS.ALL THE POEMS LABELLED "THE CANDIS SERIES" UNDERNEATH BELONG TO THIS COMPILATION. THIS ANTHOLOGY COMPRISES TEN POEMS. -KOS HASN'T WRITTEN POETRY IN ALMOST THREE YEARS DUE TO HIS VERY TIGHT SCHEDULE. HE GOT EMPLOYED AS AN ENGLISH EDUCATOR AND HE IS ALWAYS BUSY, BUT THIS YEAR HE HAS DECIDED TO GO BACK TO HIS "SOUL BURNER", POETRY. YOU WILL NOW SEE THE LATEST POEMS HE HAS WRITTEN AFTER HIS THREE YEAR BREAK. -that Kos's poem "Gone but not forgotten", dedicated to the late South African Jazz bass guitarist, has received 169 votes on the on-line publication site: www.poetrypoem.com (click the link "past contest winners" below). This poem is very moving and reaches out to the reader. A true tribute to the South African legend, Sipho Gumede. -that Kos' poem "How Lonely Is That Cloud Up There" has received 80 votes and has won a place in the on-line publication site: www.poetrypoem.com (click the link "past contest winners"). _that one of Kos' poems "Love is an ever-fixed mark" was rewarded winner of the love poetry competition held in Cape Town at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in South Africa 2002. A gold medal was awarded to him in the honor of his extraordinary poem. _his most humorous poem "Rhyming the ake" will be shortly published in an international poetry anthology entitled "Eternal portraits" in America. -his poem "A blind man's melody" has been chosen for publication in a poetry anthology named "Voicenet poetry anthology" in the United States of America. _his poem of imagination, "Composed upon Sarepta Bridge, September 22, 2004", has been selected as one of the best poems of the current decade(with its contradicting scene and essence to that of William Wordsworth's "Composed upon Westminster Bridge, London). -his poetry compilation named "prison poetry" comprises only of his twenty poems inscribed in dedication to the duration of his past arrest. These poems specify their essences to the experiences that he underwent while he was in prison. ABOUT: Sithembiso Maxwell Kos, a South African poet, was born on the 4th of May 1984 in Mdantsane, a township located in East London in the Eastern Cape Province. He started his primary education in Fort Murray, a rural place in Eastern Cape, and finished his primary learning in Bisho, a small town located near King Williams Town. He started his high school education at Forbes Grant High School in Ginsberg Township and was shortly transferred to IQonce High. Both high schools are situated in King Williams Town. In 1998 he moved to Port Elizabeth where he finished his high school education, at KwaMagxaki High. In 2002 he moved to Cape Town in the Western Cape Province to start his tertiary education at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), prominently known as 'Bush'. He enrolled for a BA degree specializing in the studies of English & journalism. His current home is in King Williams Town (Ginsberg Township), where his family stays. He has two brothers, one sister, a father and, a person that he sincerely adores, his mother. He has written many poems in his lifetime and is still writing poetry very sincerely. He's also deeply fanatical to article/journalistic writing, short story writing, piano playing, song composing and socialism.
