NEWS: I guess my mortality has caught up with me, for now I think a lot about the people in my life that are important to me and I want them to know who they are. Writing these thoughts is probably the coward's way out but it's hard not to get emotional when speaking the words and looking into another's face. You never know what their reaction may be. A wrinkled nose, a tear in the eye, perhaps anger or God forbid, they cry. If all people would write with a pen, before they send; perhaps they Will keep many more, a friend.

ABOUT: People used to write letters because they had few other options if they wanted to communicate with others from a distance in miles or time. Some of these letters have become part of history and others cherished by a few. The many were probably thrown away and only important to the people that wrote them but they all served a purpose at the time. Today, with all the choices we have, letter writing is being lost; at least the paper and pen. That's too bad, because when I write a letter, poem or a song, it is mine only, until I mail it and if I change my mind, I can keep it or destroy it, maybe I will change it or add to it. I give myself time to look past the moment and time to evaluate what I have written. When I write something online, it's gone as soon as I hit send and I can't pull it back. I choose to write with the pen on paper and then evaluate whether to type it here. Handwriting appears to me to unlock part of my brain and heart that typing cannot.
