ABOUT: About me.... Silly, honest, clumsy, blunt, caring. My closest friends and Family often say I should wear a camera on my head. My Dad even named a chapter( as if there is a book LOL ) on Thanksgiving Day last year. It was, " How I learned my car key had a chip in it" It's actually a pretty funny story. Only because I am alive to tell it. But that's the story of my life. It's never a simple flat tire, put a spare on and off you go. Ya it's not what I do that amazes me it's how I do it. Poetry for me as a young girl was an escape away from reality. It was an expression or thought I could not say out-loud. Up until the last 4 years or so my style was un-changed. To be honest when someone would read me their poems, I am ashamed now to say, that I was not listening. It wasn't that I thought I was better, I just wasn't impressed. I wrote with very simple words. Making sure I rhymed while I told a story. Big fancy words to me seemed artificial. It wasn't until I really listened and read other Poems that I began to realize how much more I had to learn. So I went back to all of my old Poems and re-wrote them in this new " style ". BONK... I still like the originals. I think more so because I wrote for children as a child. To re-write those Poems as an Adult was..silly. Every Poem....every single poem is written by me, about me, for a friend, about life and how I see it.... Allot of the poems I wrote were about bad or sad times. I'd say 80% But I am a very happy person :) When my friends are sad then it is my duty, ( planned or not ) to make sure I get them to at least laugh or smile 2 times before I leave. The first poem Iron Wall, is my favorite. I often refer back to it in other poems.
