 News

I am Johnny Duncan, the creator of THE BLACK HISTORY CALENDAR (1986). I also wrote "I Can", the poem that created the term Afr-i-can Amer-i-can and inspired the President. Many are unaware of the fact that the U. S. Constitution was created to protect the rights of the minority in a democracy, rule of the majority. Over the last three decades, I have been embroiled in the judicial system , trying to secure many of the constitutional warranties. I have had a modicum of success within the past year where I prevailed in a First and Fourth Amendment case against the City of Amite (June 18, 2009) and in a similar case against the City of Hammond on the "Ides (15) of March 2010. Goggle "Johnny Duncan ACLU" and "Johnny Duncan versus City of Hammond" to learn more about these litigations. I know definitely that the only time someone can ride you is when your back is bent. The poetry that I write is a reflection on the experiences that I have encountered during my tenure thus far here on Earth. I am an historian by training, and I am of the opinion that it is our job to be in the news by making positive contributions to history and not simply being a reader and/or a victim of History! More than a decade ago, the 4010th Military Hospital in New Orleans said that I tested positive for HIV.  However, when I inquired further, my medical records disappeared for four (4) years, long enough for the Court of Federal Claims (COFC) to dismiss my case against the government, and to be denied military disability.  In April, 2002 I breathed in some contaminated dust, while working under an old house.  I contracted fungal pneumonia.  Upon being admitted to the hospital, I was told that I had TB and a host of other ailments. After a two week stint, I recovered quite well.  Prior to discharge, the physician alleged that I tested positive for HIV which resulted in an AIDS diagnosis.  LIke most of America, I believed the physician's report, and followed her advice to be placed on a H. A. A. R. T. regimen.  What I did not know at the time is that there was not then and still is not a test which measures HIV.  The purported HIV Assays, ELISA and Western Blot, measure antibodies for more than 70 viruses.  The presence of an antibodies only show that the body's defense is effectively fighting alien intrusion. Relying on the advice of the specialist, I began treatment with Azidothymidine-based (AZT) medicines. AZT was a failed cancer treatment from the early 1960's which was too deadly for terminally-ill cancer patients. Immediately, I developed peripheral neuropathy in both feet.  Over time, the medicines caused an outbreak of rashes, diarhea and caused severe memory loss.  While attending an LRS seminar in Kenner, Louiisiana in 2005, I couldn't remember how to return to my room. I adhered to the regimen faithfully until the end of 2005, at the time of the memory debacle.  During this time, my CD4 count never surpassed 275.  After I stopped taking the medicines, my count shot up to 450.  Following the advice of a physician I trusted, I returned to another regiment in 2006, with the same results.  My CD4 count never again reached 300.  The medications waged a search and destroy mission on all cells, whether they contained HIV or not.  AIDS medications do not and cannot target alleged HIV infected cells because the virus has only been isolated in a laboratory environment, not in the human body! On April 15, 2012 David Crowe of How Positive Are You (HPAY) conducted an interview with me (Episode 48).  After being poisoned for more than ten (10) years, and having my named smeared in the medical records and in the community, I am now convinced that there was nothing wrong with me when the unreliable HIV test was used to make an AIDS diagnosis.  I cannot say that at this moment, because for the last eleven (11) years, I have consumed toxins that steadily gnaw at the brain, liver, kidneys, bone marrow and blood.  It is by the grace of God that I am still alive. How does it feel to be told that you are HIV positive?  What happens when you are told that you have AIDS?  These questions and others like them are answered in my forth coming book entitled:  "THE CURE FOR AIDS"!

About The Author:    -- Writers keep all copyrights.

My name is Johnny Duncan. An old mid-wife by the name of Sally Anderson slapped my butt when I was born, and I have been crying ever since. I was born in Alabama, and grew up in Louisiana. I attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. I was president of Harambee, the Black Student organization, during my stay there. My colleagues and I worked diligently to improve race relations there. We were instrumental in the hiring of Dale Brown, the implementation of an Afro-centric curriculum. I was the founding president of the Amite NAACP in 1970. I found the Greater Tangipahoa Parish NAACP in 2004, whose site is "eyeswideopennow.org". Over the years, I have taught at Alabama State University, Stillman College, Miles College, LSUBR, City College of Chicago (Weisbaden, Germany) and most recently at Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC). I enlisted in the United States Army in 1981 as a Yorktown Cohort to escape Eutaw, Alabama. I attended Officer Candidate School (OCS) and became a commissioned Infantry officer in 1982. I served more than twenty (20) years on active duty and in the reserve. My life is best represented by the poem "I Can". With that in mind, I refuse to allow the best that I have done thus far be the standard for the rest of my life. I challenge you to do better too. Adelante! Siempre Adelante! Johnny Duncan The 1st Afr-i-can Amer-i-can
