So, it's been a long year and I've had a lot of self-discovery. I haven't written very many new poems because sometimes life just goes too fast. I'm editing my book, hopefully, fingers crossed, I will have the manuscript copyrighted and on it's way to a publisher by the end of the summer! I'm so excited and nervous, everyone on here has been great letting me know what they think and what seems to work and what doesn't. So on to another year of striving to see my name in print.. I can't believe how far I've come within these past few months, I can tell my writing has changed and that I hope is a good thing. I'm getting more serious and editing my poems to get them ready for publication. I have it set that I at least want to get at least the manuscript put together in book format by september, here's to hoping that I will be closer to my dreams...

I am from a small town in Georgia, my name comes from a country song that ironically ended up being the story of my life. I've lived in many places from East to West coast and back. I started writing poetry in second grade as an assignment and found I was good at it so I continued. I've written poems in english and french although only two have ever been published. Right now I'm trying to get my book finished,it will be called "The Long Road Home" or something els if that one seems too cheesy. My poems are based upon personal experience and experiences of friends. I write about everything though whether it be a flower or an experience. These poems all have stories behind them and mean something to someone, even if it is just me. i want to know that people can relate to my poems because sometimes that is the best therapy. I hope you enjoy my work! please give me feedback so I know what works and what doesn't.
