The emergence of the beast Among the signs of the Hour will be the emergence of a beast from the earth. It will be very strange in appearance, and extremely huge; one cannot even imagine what it will look like. It will emerge from the earth and shake the dust from its head. It will have with it the ring of Solomon and the rod of Moses. People will be terrified of it and will try to run away, but they will not be able to escape, because such will be the decree of Allah. It will destroy the nose of every unbeliever with the rod, and write the word "Kafir" on his forehead; it will adorn the face of every believer and write the word "Mu'min" (true believer) on his forehead, and it will speak to people. Allah SWT said: "And when the Word is fulfilled against them (the unjust), We shall produce from the earth a Beast to (face) them: it will speak to them,'" (al-Naml 27.82) Ibn 'Abbas, al-Hasan and Qutadah said that "It will speak to them" (tukallimuhum) means that it will address them. Ibn Jarir suggested that it means that the Beast will address them with the words "'for that mankind did not believe with assurance in Our Sings" (al-Naml 27:82 - latter part of the Ayah). Ibn Jarir reported this from 'Ali and 'Ata' It was reported from Ibn 'Abbas that tukallimuhum means that the Beast will cut them, i e, it will write the word "Kafir" on the forehead of the unbeliever. It was also reported from Ibn 'Abbas that he will both address them and cut them; this suggestion incorporates both of the previous suggestions; and Allah knows best. We have already mentioned the Hadith of Hudhayfah ibn Usayd, in which the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) is reported to have said, "The Hour will not come until you see ten signs: the smoke; the Dajjal; the Beast; the sun rising from the West; the descent of Jesus son of Mary; Gog and Magog; and three landslides - one in the East, one in the West, and one in Arabia, at the end of which fire will burst forth from the direction of Aden (Yemen) and drive people to the place of their final assembly." Abu Hurairah said: "The Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) said, 'Hasten to do good deeds before six things happen: the rising of the sun from the West, the smoke, the Dajjal, the Beast, the (death) of one of you or general tribulation." (Muslim.) Baridah said: "The Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) took me to a place in the desert, near Makkah. It was a dry piece of land surrounded by sand. The Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) said, 'The Beast will emerge from this place. It was a very small area." (Ibn Majah.) It was reported from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) said, "The Beast of the Earth will emerge, and will have with it the rod of Moses and the ring of Solomon." It was also reported that he said, "(The Beast) will destroy the noses of the unbelievers with the ring, - so that people seated around one table will begin to address one another with the words "O Believer!" or "O Unbeliever!" (i e, everyone's status will become clear). (Ibn Majah.) 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr said, "I memorised a Hadith from the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) which I have not forgotten since. I heard the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) say, 'The first of the signs (of the Hour) to appear will be the rising of the sun from the West and the appearance of the Best before the people in the forenoon. Whichever of these two events happens first, the other will follow immediately.'" (Muslim). That is to say, these will be the first extraordinary signs. The Dajjal, the descent of Jesus (alayhe salam), the emergence of Gog and Magog, are less unusual in that they are all human beings. But the emergence of the Beast, whose form will be very strange, its addressing the people and classifying them according to their faith or unbelief, is something truly extraordinary. This is the first of the earthly signs, as the rising of the sun from the West is the first of the heavenly signs. The Rising of the Sun from the West ALLAH SWT says: "Are they waiting to see if the angels come to them, or thy Lord (Himself), or certain of the Signs of thy Lord? The day that certaof thesigns of thy Lord do come, no good will it do to a soul to believe in them then, if it believed not before nor earned righteousness through its faith. Say: 'Wait ye: we too are waiting'" (al-Anam 6:158.) It was reported from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) explained, "The day that certain of the Signs of thy Lord do come, no good will it do to a soul to believe in them then", referring to the rising of the sun from the West. (Ahmad.) Abu Hurairah said, "The Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) said, 'The Hour will not come until the sun rises from the West. When the people see it, whoever is living on earth will believe, but that will be the time when - No good will it do to a soul to believe in them then, if it believed not before'" (Bukhari.) It was also reported from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) said, "The Hour will not come until the sun rises from the West. When it rises and the people see it, they will all believe. But that will be the time when 'No good will it do to a soul to believe in them then'" (Bukhari.) It was reported from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) said, "There are three things which, if they appear, 'No good will it do to a soul to believe in them then, if it believed not before nor earned righteousness through its faith' They are: the rising of the sun from the West, the Dajjal, and the Beast of the Earth." (Ahmad, Muslim, Tirmidhi.) Abu Dharr said, "The Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) asked me, 'Do you know where the sun goes when it sets? I said, 'I do not know'He said, 'It travels until it prostrates itself beneath the Throne, and asks for permission to rise again. But a time will come when it will be told, 'Go back whence you came.' That will be the time when 'No good will it do to a soul to believe in them then, if it believed not before nor earned righteousness through its faith'" (Bukhari.) 'Amr ibn Jarir said, "Three Muslims were sitting with Marwan in Madinah, and heard him say, whilst talking about the Signs of the Hour, that the first of them would be the appearance of the Dajjal. The three went to 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr, and told him what they had heard Marwan say concerning the Signs. 'Abd Allah said, 'Marwan has not said much. I memorised a Hadith like that from the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) which I have not forgotten since. I heard the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) say: The first of the signs will be the rising of the sun from the West, and the emergence of the Beast in the forenoon. Whichever of the two comes first, the other will follow immediately'" "The 'Abd Allah, who was widely-read, said, 'I think that the first to happen will be the rising of the sun from the West. Every time it sets, it goes beneath the Throne, prostrates itself, and seeks permission to rise again. A time will come when three times it will seek permission and will receive no reply, until, when part of the night has passed and it realises that even if it were given permission, it would not be able to rise on time, it will say: "O my Lord, how far the rising-point is from me! What can I do for the people now?" Then it will seek permission to go back, and it will be told: 'Rise from where you are now' - and it will rise from the West'" Then 'Abd Allah recited the Ayah: "No good will it do to a soul to believe in them then, if it believed not before nor earned righteousness through its faith." (Ahmad.) Some scholars interpret "the rising of the sun from the West" as meaning that Islam will appear in the West, as strong as it was in the beginning, and that the people of the West will carry the flag of Islam. The Smoke Which Will Appear At the End of Time MASRUQ said: "While a man was giving a speech among the people of Kindah, he said, 'There will be smoke on the Day of Resurrection which will deprive the hypocrites of their hearing and sight, but the believers will only suffer something like a cold' We were terrified, so we went to Ibn Masud, who was reclining. When he heard about this, he became angry and sat up, and said: 'O people, whoever knows a thing, let him say it; but whoever does not know, let him say, "Allah knows best." It is a part of knowledge, when one does not know something, to say "Allah knows best." Allah SWT said to His Prophet Mohammad (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam): "Say: 'No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender'" (Sad 38:86.) "Quraysh were being slow in embracing Islam, so the Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) prayed against them, saying, 'O Allah, help me against them by sending seven years of famine like those of Joseph.' They were afflicted by a year of famine in which they were destroyed, and ate dead animals and bones. They began to see something like smoke between the sky and the earth. Abu Sufyan came and said, 'O Mohammad! You came to command us to keep good relations with our relatives, and your people have perished, so pray that Allah may relieve them'" The Ibn Mas'ud recited, "Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible, Enveloping the people: this will be a Penalty Grievous. (They will say:) 'Our Lord! Remove the Penalty from us, for we do truly believe! How shall the Message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Apostle explaining things clearly has (already) come to them? Yet they return away from him and say: 'Tutored (by others), a man possessed! We shall indeed remove the Penalty for a while, (but) truly ye will revert (to your ways)." (al-Dukhan 44:10-15) Ibn Maud asked: "Will their punishment in the Hereafter be removed so they can go back to their Kufr?" Allah SWT said: "One day We shall seize you with a mighty onslaught: We will indeed (then) exact Retribution!" (al-Dukhan 44:16) "...and soon will come the inevitable (punishment)!" (al-Furqan 25:77) These Ayat refer to the Day (Battle) of Badr. Allah SWT said: "Alif-Lam-Mim. The Romans (Byzantines) have been defeated - in a land close by; but they, (even) after (this) defeat of theirs, will soon be victorious - within a few years'" (al-Rum 30: 1-3) (Bukhari.) This speaker's suggestion - that the idea that the smoke would be on the Day or Resurrection was not a good one - made Ibn Masud react angrily. But the smoke will appear before the Day of Resurrection; it will be one of the signs, which are: the Beast, the Dajjal, the Smoke, and Gog and Magog, as the Ahadith narrated from Abu Sarihah, Abu Hurairah and other Sahabah indicate. As mentioned in the Sahih Ahadith, the fire which will appear before the Day of Resurrection will burst forth from the direction of Aden, and drive the people to the place of their final assembly. It will move with them and halt with them, and will devour any who lag behind. ......................................................... Revelation 13: Mad Cow Disease (BSE) - A New Age, Astrology, Bible Prophecy Analysis The issue of Mad-Cow Disease, otherwise known as bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), has been in the world news in recent years with an increasing number of cases in England and elsewhere in Europe. The disease is believed to have started as mutation of a protein molecule in a cow around 1970 in England, and it is believed to be spread by molecules called prions. On March 20 1996 it was announced in England that the disease had crossed the species barrier and appeared to be infecting people in England. In February 2003 there have been 122 BSE human deaths so far in England, and 132 total worldwide. But in 2002 there was a decline in the number of deaths in the U.K. to 17, compared to 20 in 2001 and 28 in 2000, so it appears the epidemic may have peaked and be declining in death rate, which is encouraging. This may mean that total human deaths from BSE in the U.K. will not go beyond several thousand, and may never reach 1000. Feeding ground up cow remains of BSE-infected cattle to cows to make them grow faster spread the disease to other cattle. And another terrible thing about BSE is that the infectious prion molecules that spread it are very hard to destroy by heat or chemicals, and can last years in the soil. So you can't just bury BSE infected cattle, you have to incinerate them at high temperatures. So a widespread epidemic of BSE could contaminate the environment with infectionious prions. Its also possible that a faster growing type of prion mutation could appear that will destroy the brain much faster. Mad-Cow Disease infecting people's brains was announced on March 20 1996 in England as the Comet Hyakutake passed by the constellation (I mean constellation, not astrological sign) Virgo the Virgin. I think that virgo the Virgin represents Isis, the Egyptian Goddess portrayed with cow's horns, giving us a "cow" connection. And Virgo may also represent Europa, representing Europe, who rides a bull, again giving us a "cow" connection. And Europa on a bull sounds like the woman in the Bible's last chapter, the Book of Revelation, Revelation 17 named "Babylon" who rides the beast of the Antichrist described in Revelation 13 (which may be Russia), I think the woman is Europe. Comet Hyakutake was discovered in January 1996 by a Japanese amateur astronomer. What is interesting about this comet, is that just before it became visible, in February 1996, it was announced that Buddha's birthplace was discovered. And it was discovered by a Japanese amateur astronomer, Japan being 50% Buddhist. So we can give this comet a connection to Buddhism, similar to the way we on this page connected Comet Hale-Bopp to Christianity and the New Age movement, because of its 2 discovers, and the Shroud fire at the time when Comet Hale-Bopp was at peak brightness. Comet Hyakutake crossed through the Constellation Draco the Dragon, and the Dragon is an important symbol in Japanese mythology. Also, Comet Hyakutake's closest approach to earth was on March 25, (5 days after the announcement on BSE in people in England), and March 25, 1996, was the Feast of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Catholic Calendar, which commemorates the day when an angel informed Mary that she was to be the Mother of Christ. And on April 3, 1996, this comet was visible during a lunar eclipse, which interestingly occurs between Palm Sunday and Good Friday. This lunar eclipse gives a "dark side" association to the 1996 Easter period. When this comet passed near the constellation Virgo (the actual constellation, rather than the astrology sign), Mad Cow Disease appearing in people was announced to the world. The Egyptian version of Virgo, Isis, depicted with cow's horns. And Europa, the symbol of Europe, could also be considered a version of Virgo the Virgin. Europa rides a Bull-- this image is similar to the 17th chapter of the Bible's Book of Revelation, where a woman named Babylon rides a beast. Also, according to Revelation, the woman sits on a city with seven hills, which is Rome-- again implying she is Europe. It states in Revelation 18 that no one will buy her goods any more, including cattle and sheep, and souls of men. So, Mad Cow Disease brings to mind this symbol in Revelation. And note that BSE was discovered in 1986, so if we assign a galaxy to it by this number 86(Galaxy M86) as we did for Ebola, AIDS, and Influenza, Galaxy M86 is in the constellation Virgo the Virgin, again representing the woman Babylon and Isis. And note that if we assign a Book of Revelation passage to this number 86, we have Revelation 18:6, which refers to the woman Babylon: "18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled, fill to her double." An important sequence of events seem to have begun in early 1996, when Comet Hyakutake appeared. As well as in March 1996, the issue of Mad Cow Disease (also called BSE) infecting people in England was announced to the public, also on February 5, 1996, newspapers announced that Buddha's birthplace had been found in Nepal. The significant astrological event at that time: Chiron (an asteroid, associated by astrologers with health issues) was at perihelion, closest approach to the sun, on February 14, 1996. Let us consider an astrological alignment of planets from 34 years before, to help us understand these events. On February 5, 1962, there was a very significant astrological event: a close grouping of seven planets in the sign of Aquarius, grouped within 17 degrees, at the same time as a solar eclipse. Related to that date is a prophecy of the psychic Jean Dixon, described in the book "A Gift of Prophecy" by Ruth Montgomery, published in 1965 by Bantam Books. Jean Dixon was a popular psychic in the 1960s and 1970s; you could still find her predictions in the tabloids in recent years. She had a vision that on February 5, 1962, a child was born in the Middle East, who would transform the world by year 2000, creating a unifying world religion, and bringing world peace. She saw a cross growing above this man, until it covered the whole earth. This child was a descendant of the very beautiful Egyptian Queen Nefertiti and her Pharoah husband Amenhotep IV, or Akhenaten, an "enlightened" pharoah, who created a monotheistic sun-worship religion, which was quite a change from Egypt's polytheistic religion before his time. This religion was a predecessor to the later monotheistic religions that we have today. This monotheistic sun-worship religion was discarded after this Pharoah's death, however. To understand this Jean Dixon vision, we should again consider the Christian mythology of the Antichrist. The Antichrist and his ally the False Prophet dominate the world for several years, bringing world peace. This ends at the Battle of Armageddon, when the returned Christ defeats their armies. This begins a thousand year Millenium period of peace and prosperity on earth. So, who is this child Jean Dixon saw in her vision? From the description, he could be either the Antichrist, or his ally the False Prophet, or the returned Christ, or one of the Two Witnesses described in Revelation 11. The interesting thing about her prophecy is the vision of a cross above the earth. In the Southern Cross concept, an idea of mine, I consider that the 1987 Supernova in the Southern Hemisphere began a positive force in the Southern hemisphere by igniting a nearby constellation, the Southern Cross. Similarly, a 1993 supernova in the Great Bear constellation ignited a nearby constellation, Draco the Dragon, creating problems in the Northern Hemisphere, since the dragon is Satan in Biblical imagery. And you seem to see that pattern, in the last 10 years: positive change in the Southern hemisphere, with democracy coming to South America, and positive change in South Africa, while the Northern Hemisphere has had its problems. (Although in the last few years the Southern Hemisphere has seen problems again, with an evil alliance forming of Cuba-Venezuela that is helping Muslim terrorists.) So, this Southern Cross idea fits the Jean Dixon idea of a cross forming above the earth. The time interval between these 2 dates (1962 and 1996), 34 years, is of interest: if we consider the Biblical passage Genesis 3:4, corresponding to number 34 (a technique I like to use to analyze numbers is turn them into Biblical passage numbers), this is an incident in the Biblical Garden of Eden. Eve had been warned by God not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. But in passage Genesis 3:4, the serpent encourages Eve to eat from this tree, to open her eyes, and be like God. This would relate to the idea of the Antichrist-- a man who makes himself a God. In Greek, the language of the Bible's New Testament, each letter is also a number. Therefore, each word can be assigned a number, by totalling the letter/numbers when the word is translated into Greek. "Jesus", for example, translates as 888 this way. An interesting pattern exists, where words or phrases with related meanings are multiples of certain numbers. For "dark side" words or phrases, the numbers tend to be exact or approximate multiples of 666 or 276. 666 is the "Number of the Beast", the Antichrist, in Revelation 13. Examples related to 276: "die" corresponds to 276 in Greek, "Satan" is approximately 276x2, "evil" is 276x8, etc. And 34 years is only 1.5 days from being an exact multiple of 276 days, so 34 years is sort of a "Satanic cycle". So, what I am proposing is that February 1996 began a critical time period related to the appearance of the Antichrist. This makes sense of some of these events: the announcement of the discovery of Buddha's birthplace, and the unexpected appearance of two bright new comets in 1996 and 1997, Mad Cow Disease appearing. The Antichrist is said to come as an "Angel of Light", like the comet, and is represented as a "star that falls from heaven". Comet Hyakutake crossed through Draco the Dragon, the constellation I said has a Satanic connection, since Satan is the Dragon in Revelation. Also, Comet Hyakutake's closest approach to earth was on March 25, which is the Feast of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Catholic Calendar, which commemorates the day when an angel informed Mary that she was to be the Mother of Christ. And on April 3, this comet was visible during a lunar eclipse, which interestingly occurs between Palm Sunday and Good Friday. This lunar eclipse gives a "dark side" association to the 1996 Easter period, which again could be connected with the Antichrist. Considering Chiron, an asteroid of great importance to Astrologers, Chiron's Feb. 14, 1996, perihelion agrees with this concept: both Christ and the Antichrist would be healers, like Chiron. Also, Chiron is a Centaur, and the Southern Cross used to be a part of the Centaur constellation. A recent book (a very interesting book I recommend) on Mad Cow Disease, "Deadly Feasts", by Richard Rhodes (published by Simon & Schuster, 1997), has an interesting comparison between BSE disease and Kurt Vonnegut's 1963 novel "Cat's Cradle". In this novel, an alternate form of ice, ice-nine, is created by a scientist, this ice having a high melting point so that it remains ice at room temperature. The problem with ice-nine is that it acts as a seed, crystalizing into ice-nine all the water in the world, resulting in the end of the world. The comparison to BSE is that the new crystalized form of brain molecule in BSE may in a similar way tend to crystalize the brains of the people infected with it. And comets are believed to be largely composed of frozen ice-- another connection between BSE and comet Hyakutake. BSE was announced to the public in March 1996 as Comet Hyakutake passed by the Constellation Virgo (here I am talking about the astronomical Constellation Virgo, rather than the astrological sign Virgo). Isis, the Egyptian version of the female goddess represented by Virgo, had cow's horns on her head (this was the later Egyptian mythological representation of Isis). So this gives Virgo a "cow" connection, so it is interesting that the disease was announced as Comet Hyakutake passed by the Constellation Virgo. An issue for Europe is that it is geographically close to Russia, and Russia is a military superpower that had been going through a period of instability, because of difficulty in converting its economy from Communism to a Western economic system. But former Russian President Putin has brought stability to Russia at the price of bringing back an authoritarian type of government. This site includes a section suggesting that Russia and the Confederation of Independent States could be the red ten horned beast in the Book of Revelation in the Bible, and Europe could be the woman named "Babylon" who rides him in Revelation 17. (Since Europa in mythology was a woman riding a bull). Note that geographically Western Europe being next to Russia, would agree with this idea of Europa riding the beast Russia. Or the 10 horned beast may be the SCO alliance of Russia, China, and 4 Central Asian nations, that Iran and other countries may also join. Revelation, the last chapter of the Christian Bible, consists of prophecies of disastrous future events, that many people believe are occurring now with the new millennium beginning. I think Russian President Putin will become an absolute Hitler-style dictator in Russia, and eventually work miracles on the world scene. What I am talking about here is the Antichrist in power in Russia, and that Russia is the red 7-head 10-horned beast of the Bible's Book of Revelation (The 10 horns being the Confederation of Independent States, led by Russia, although there are more than 10 in it now. Another possibility is that this 10 horned beast is the anti-U.S. SCO alliance consisting of Russia, China, and 4 Central Asian nations, and others may join in the future, including Iran). This is an angry, dangerous beast in the Book of Revelation. Another image in the Book of Revelation chapter 17 is the woman who rides the red 10-horned Beast. Eventually Russia will turn against Europe and burn Europa with fire. In Revelation 17, the 10 horns of the beast are 10 kings who are in league with him, I think this is the C.I.S., and the seven heads of the Beast would be the heads of the seven districts that President Putin has divided Russia into. Revelation 17 (King James Version): 17:3 "...and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns." 17:4 "...having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness..." 17:12 "And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast." 17:16 "And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the (woman), and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire." Note also that the woman is described in Revelation 17:6 as "drunk with the blood of saints", I believe this is referring to Europe's long history of wars, having seen more wars in the last two thousand years than anywhere else on earth, the worst wars being World War 1 and 2. The woman is described as a great city in Revelation 17:18, and in 17:15 it says that the woman consists of many peoples, nations, and languages. This also agrees with the woman being Europe. Note that BSE is an alternate form of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, a very rare similar disease in people. Note the similarity to the words "Christ fell" and also the Biblical name Jacob. Also, It is believed that in people the position 129 on the protein molecule associated with BSE is important, because the amino acid at that position can relate to susceptibility in people to BSE and similar prion diseases. If we associate Revelation 12:9 with 129, you have, (King James Version) "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him". This passage I would associate with the rise of the Antichrist. So maybe BSE was destined to appear as the Antichrist (the dragon) fell to earth, into the bottomless pit (or "Putin"). Note that in English mythology the story of St. George, who battled the dragon. A suggestion to scientists: since human protein molecule position 129 (corresponding to Revelation 12:9, the dragon)is significant for BSE, I would investigate other BSE human protein molecule positions for significance, that relate to the Book of Revelation passages or other Biblical numbers, such as: 68, (corresponding to Revelation 6:8, Death), 131-139 (evil- Antichrist in Revelation 13), 144 (good- the 144,000 chosen ones in Revelation 7), 72 (Revelation 7:2, an angel), 173 (the woman Babylon in Revelation 17:3), 197-199 (good- marriage of the Lamb Revelation 19:7-9), 207, 208 (bad- Satan released from prison in Revelation 20:7-8), 209 (good - Satan captured), 216 (good-source of life in Revelation 21:6).
