I'm just an average 60+ year old American, raised on a farm in Connecticut. Through the years as a student, U.S. Marine, husband, father and Grampa, I have learned to live by theses basic truths. Faith in our Creator, Honor the Family, Respect for all Life, Value and Cost of Freedom and our real wealth is shown in our children, not in our bank account. These constant truths have guided me in life and made me the man I am, in today's world, to many people have forgotten these. People seek the biggest bank account, best home and the newest things and expect life to be easy and all their needs to be met.
I don't understand when people became disconnect from reality but, anyone who looks at what's happening in their community, can't deny this situation exists.
This site is dedicated to my grand-children ad the farm I was raised on,
Shadowbrook,
It was where family and friends gathered to talk and tell stories of life, hope, and inspiration. Where you tought your children about the world, after a hard days work and an evening meal.
Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds.
And whose breath gives life to all the world.
Hear me! I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes
Ever hold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have made.
My ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand
The things you might teach me.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden
In every leaf and rock.
I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother.
But to fight my greatest enemy, myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
With clear hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset.
My spirit may come to you without shame.
