The Intimacy of Strangers

I am the wind kissing your skin,

I am the earth smelling your essence,

I am the one that melts within absolute happiness,

I am the one that fades within absolute despair,

I am the child of innocence and endless dreams,

I am the rebel, the free girl of yesterday,

I am the passionate, intense, aware woman of today,

My soul has cried tears of blood,

and smiled rays of light,

I am now whole for I bathed in the Truth of life.

I am the rain that touches skin on a hot day,

I am the shadow of a tree that watches the old man,

sitting daily on the same bench, crossing his fingers,

suffocating in memories of yesterday.

For a higher state of consciousness, for freedom, for love,

I chose words or rather, words chose me,

for they helped me exist, become, be.

The darkness exists

Yet it is illuminated by the tender glow

of pure thoughts that vibrate all around.
