Echoes Of The Soul

I Awaken

I awaken. After sitting on the beach, staring at the sunset. The ocean calls me, the abyss asks me to come to her, the void beckons me. I am afraid, I am lost, and I am confused on why I am what I am. The tides rise, the waves enlarge, she is coming for me. I am washed away, I am taken away, I am on a voyage in the depths of the unknown. The dragon under the surface, he sees me and comes for me, his hunger is bottomless. The serpent of the sea swallows me, digests me, and buries me in his belly. The belly of the beast, I call out for a Savior, I pray for the prayer of liberation. My thoughts hit rock bottom, unbearable suffering becomes me, I have become death. In the darkness I hear Him, I see Him and He becomes me. The Spirit calls the Light, the Light is called the Spirit, and the Spirit is deep within me. In the belly of the beast, within the heart of the lost, the Lord of Love rises beyond the waters. I am not his, but I am His, and Leviathan chokes on his own lies. Three thousand years have passed, three days of sorrow, three faces of God. The dragon releases me, suffocated by the Light, and he returns to the endless void. The Savior walks on the surface, He calls me to join Him and take His hand above the waters. Always above, never below, we walk upon the bodies of water. The bodies of death, the footprints of life, the path of the few. The sleepless night of the drowning, the spells of serpents, the way of the world. Goodbye everlasting night, hello limitless light. I awaken.
