A Curse

Photobucket
deep within the forest lives an old hag of dubious abilities
it is said that once she was beautiful lass of much renown
but what was it that had changed her from a beauty to an old hag
the tale is one that was never really disclosed even to her cat
when you lived with a curse there was only one recourse

as a lass she had tried to ignore the curse deny its very existence
one day she found her true love and her life now seemed charmed
the curse forgotten at the time as she prepared her wedding day
as she walked down the aisle a strange commotion disrupted around
when you live with a curse there is only one recourse

up above her head floated a specter one she had never seen before
it spoke her name then proceeded to tell of the curse she had inherited
one of a horrible existence that it had never been disclosed completely
her family had failed to tell the truth or maybe they had feared to tell all
when you live with a curse there is only one recourse

every hundred years it descended upon the eldest daughter for generations
this was the year and as the only child it would fall to her it was now her curse
she trembled at the implications the specter told about tears began to fall
a deed of such sinister occurrence done by one of her ancestors in the past
when you live with a curse there is only one recourse

the specter told of the love between the eldest daughter of the past long ago
her parents were distraught over this union that was to soon be held dreading it
they conspired to destroy this unholy union of their daughter to a known werewolf
she would not listen to their pleas so they did only what they believed to be right
when you live with a curse there is only one recourse

they took her to the cliff side not far from their castle sacrificed her to their gods
they felt this would cleanse the deed of the love she felt for the young man they feared
when he heard of what they had done he went into such a rage that he spoke the curse
placing it upon the family for eternity their deed would not go unchallenged or revenged
when you live with a curse there is only one recourse

as she listened to the tale fear grew within her heart she knew then what as coming
her talents as a shape shifter were known to all a despair her family refused to admit
she listened as the curse unfolded before her she cried at the end of the declaration
she would spend the rest of her life as a she wolf craving human blood to sustain herself
when you live with a curse there is only one recourse

the young lass was broken hearted for she knew the curse must be broken at any cost
turning herself into the hag she went to the forest took up residence within a camping hut
to live a lonely existence for the rest of her life alone with her dreams as she was the last
there were no other children in the family the curse would now end with her
when you live with a curse there is only one recourse
