Recently went to women's church retreat
Wonderful speaker, full of joy and upbeat
Through the fresh brewed adventure theme
Images of coffee aroma but more to be seen
Life is an adventure filled with the unexpected
Our personal relationship with God we reflected
Corporate worship and praise filled that place
Quiet times alone before His throne of grace
We hurt when our life is out of balance physically
Affects our whole being, emotional and spiritually
Another aspect is when leaving God out some days
Results in wrong choices and paths along the way
When busyness is from performance based focus
We miss out on the deep joy God desires for us
Using the excuse that God judges by what we do
Instead of seeing our great value in His eyes too
God meets us where we are, just believe and receive
Avoid being trapped by ways Satan uses to deceive
Realize by our own efforts and strength we will fail
Only living through the Spirit's power we prevail
Listing priorities of whom and what matter to you
With God in the center, use balance wheel as a tool
Then divide the circle into spokes, like a pie chart
Include each priority, as a point of reference to start
Pray first, before you commit, and act accordingly
Prepare for the extreme events and allow flexibility
Chronically over work in one area, robs you of joy
For life God designed and created for you to enjoy
Living in the present moment can be a difficult task
To unpack and put away all the baggage of our past
Grieving pain fades but inner wounds will prolong
Until we let go and healthily deal with it all along
Understanding secret sins in your family history
Greatly assists in seeing generational tendencies
Give specific sins over to God in earnest prayer
Find a same gender friend we can trust and share
Release all worry and anxiety to a trustworthy God
Have a radical trust in Christ on the path we trod
By learning to practice the presence of God daily
We will experience blessings and joy abundantly

Ask God about priorities, lift everything up in prayer
Achieving more balance involves intentional planning
Like a balance beam, it takes discipline and practicing
In my own life, this retreat gave me new, fresh insight
Through struggles in areas that I sensed were not right
I have useful tools to apply His Truth in practical ways
As I depend more on the power of the Spirit each day
